Men’s Lacrosse: Three Pilgrims Earn GNAC All-Conference Honors

HENNIKER, N.H. - Three members of the New England College men's lacrosse team were recognized in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference teams as part of the conference's postseason awards, as announced by the league office on Monday.  

Junior Brody McGonigle (Concord, N.H.) earned his first All-Conference recognition, being named to the GNAC All-Conference Third Team as a midfielder. McGonigle appeared in 14 games for the Pilgrims and led the team with 28 goals and 50 points. He recorded a career-high five goals against Norwich on April 1st and dished out a career-best five assists against Thomas on April 16th, finishing his junior campaign on the GNAC All-Conference Third Team.  

Junior Nate Finn (Norwood, Mass.) joined McGonigle on the GNAC All-Conference Third Team as a goalkeeper. The junior continued to stand strong between the pipes this season, starting in all 15 games, recording a .568 save percentage, and finishing the season with 216 saves – sitting at second in the league in saves. Finn had his best game on April 1st against Norwich, tallying a career-high 27 saves, the second-highest single-game total in program history.  In addition to his placement on the All-Conference Third Team, Finn was on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll four times this season.  

Graduate faceoff specialist Evan Zonderman (Dracut, Mass.) joined McGonigle and Finn on the GNAC All-Conference Third Team, after a strong season at the X. He led the team with 127 ground balls while appearing in all 15 games, winning 213 of 317 faceoffs for an impressive .672 faceoff percentage, ranking second in program history for highest single-season faceoff percentage. Zonderman contributed offensively with 15 goals and three assists for 18 points, while adding six caused turnovers. He delivered a record-setting performance on March 20th, collecting 24 ground balls – the most in a single game in program history. Zonderman also earned a spot on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll this season and finished as one of the conference's top faceoff specialists.  

Senior midfielder Tony Leary (Montevideo, Uruguay) was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
