Box Score RANDOLPH CENTER, Vt. - The New England College Men's Soccer team (4-0) secured their fourth win on the season against Vermont State University-Randolph (1-2) on Sunday with a 2-0 victory over the Knights.
Junior Kyle Butts (Lee, N.H.) got his first career start in net for the Pilgrims to record his first collegiate shutout. Junior Erik Corbin (Marlborough, Mass.) got the scoring started with a header off a corner kick from junior Jack LaBroad (East Kingston, N.H.) just under ten minutes into the game.
After taking a 1-0 lead into the half, sophomore Trevor Peal (Crown Point, Ind.) found an open freshman Ezekiel Weir (St. George, Utah) to bury his fourth goal of the season in as many games to double the Pilgrims lead.
NEC has outscored their opponents 16-0 in one of their best starts to the season in the past three decades. The team will look to keep the hot start going as they travel to Fitchburg State on Wednesday for a 6:00 PM tilt.
