HENNIKER, N.H. - Junior Lauren Hall (Belfast, Maine) of the New England College field hockey team was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending on September 21st.
Hall and the 'Grims defense delivered a dominant week, recording back-to-back shutouts while allowing just two shots across both games. In Wednesday's non-conference matchup against Gordon College, the defense allowed only one shot as they cruised to a 5-0 win. Hall has excelled as one of the last lines of defense on the NEC defense, denying scoring chances for opposing attackers.The 'Grims defense has continued to dominate, limiting the Pride to just one shot in a 6-0 GNAC victory over Regis College. The Pilgrims sit tied for first place at 3-0 in GNAC action.
The Pilgrims will hit the road this week for two games. They start on Wednesday with a non-conference matchup against the Plymouth State Panthers. The team continues GNAC play on Saturday as they travel to West Hartford, Connecticut to take on the Blue Jays of the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.).
