Box Score WENHAM, Mass. – The New England College women's lacrosse team lost 16-12 at Gordon College in non-conference action on Wednesday evening at Brigham Athletic Complex in Wenham, Massachusetts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Down 9-8 at halftime, the Pilgrims found themselves trailing by three at 13-10 going into the final quarter. NEC graduate midfielder Annalisa Crooks (Nantucket, Mass.) pulled the 'Grims to within two just 13 seconds into the frame on a man-down goal. Then with 8:01 to go, NEC sophomore attacker Mackenzie McDonald (Boscawen, N.H.) took it in herself to cut the lead down to one.
- Needing an insurance goal with 4:44 left in the game, Gordon senior midfielder Kaitlyn Mini (Malden, Mass.) gave the Scots the answer with her sixth goal of the game, putting the hosts up 14-12. Then with 2:55 remaining, senior midfielder Caroline Piorkowski (Millis, Mass.) scored her fourth goal of the game to up the lead back up to three, and the Pilgrims would not threaten again.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC junior goalkeeper Isabella Marzano (Warwick, R.I.) tallied eleven saves on the day for the Pilgrims.
- Gordon senior goalkeeper Kayla Davidson (Dracut, Mass.) recorded 13 saves for the Scots.
- McDonald led the Pilgrims with five goals and three ground balls. With 23 goals on the season, McDonald has surged to the top of NEC's rankings as the team's leading scorer.
- NEC junior attacker Meadow Gilchrist (Stamford, Conn.) added four goals and three assists.
- Mini led the Scots with seven goals and one assist while Piorkowski added four goals and one assist.
