ELMIRA, N.Y. – The New England College women's wrestling team couldn't come out on top in their road dual meet against the Soaring Eagles of Elmira College suffering a 34-15 defeat. NEC would not leave empty handed as they obtained a win over Maine Maritime Academy, 34-10 on Sunday from Speidel Gymnasium in Elmira, New York
TOP 'GRIMS
- The 'Grims had their backs against the wall early as the Soaring Eagles were awarded 10 points due to forfeits. NEC sophomore Alexis Dobson (Manchester, N.H.) took care of business for the 'Grims helping the team get on the board in the dual with EC. She would defeat freshman Joycedeliz Rodriguez Santiago (Dansville, N.Y.) by way of fall, 10-5 in favor of EC.
- Shortly after Dobson's bout two more forfeits were credited to EC to extend the Soaring Eagles lead out to 15. Freshman Orla King (Woburn, Mass.) would be next up to get her hand raised by forfeit shortening the gap for NEC to 10 points, 20-10.
- Sophomore Olivia Delegas (Andover, Mass.) would rise to the occasion for the 'Grims defeating her opponent in sophomore Hailey Berry (Horseheads, N.Y.) by fall. The win by Delegas would shorten the deficit for NEC by five points, providing the 'Grims with a fighting chance to over come the adversity faced in the dual, 20-15.
- The final three matches of the day belonged to the Soaring Eagles earning a technical fall and two pin falls to conclude the day in their favor over NEC, 34-15.

TOP 'GRIMS
- The second dual of the day had a much better outcome for the 'Grims securing a dual meet win over Maine Maritime Academy.
- MMA stood no chance against the 'Grims as two wrestlers in Dobson and freshman Madeline Li (Andover, Mass.) took forfeit wins. Delegas would pick up right where she left off with securing another win this time by technical fall over sophomore Bethany Ives (Hallowell, Maine), 14-0 in favor of NEC.
- Gora picked up a win by forfeit followed up by King getting her hand raised as well by fall over sophomore Kelsey Rathbun (Orrington, Maine). Dehney and Camarena-Tejeda were up next gathering two medical forfeit wins establishing a dominant 34 points over MMA sitting them comfortably in the lead.
- The final two matches belonged to MMA by forfeit but that was no match for the onslaught that 'Grims put together bestowing NEC with the win over MMA on the day, 34-10. Delegas, Dobson, King would go on and finish their day undefeated.
