CORALVILLE, Iowa - Sophomore wrestler Jaclyn Dehney (Pelham, N.H.) represented the Pilgrims at the 2026 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships. Dehney qualified by winning the Region 1 championship last weekend.
In the first round, Dehney faced off against Sophia Ball from Aurora. Ball scored a takedown just 44 seconds into the match and went into the second period with a 6-1 lead. Dehney scored a takedown of her own 26 seconds into the period but was taken down shortly after where Ball was able to score the pin.
Dehney faced Felician's Lina Rodriguez in the first consolation round where she only needed 46 seconds for a takedown. An additional takedown just seven seconds later was all she needed before she pinned Rodriguez.
The win set Dehney up to face Kryssceah Ravenelle in the following round. Both wrestlers traded takedowns in the first minute before Dehney was able to push Ravenelle out of bounds to take the lead. A Ravenelle takedown just under a minute later set her up for the pin.
The tournament concluded the season for Dehney, who finished her season with a 16-2 record.
