Dehney Takes First at Women’s Wrestling NCWWC Regionals

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The New England College women's wrestling team competed at the NCAA Regionals hosted by Elmira College on Sunday in Elmira, New York.

TOP 'GRIMS

Freshman Jaclyn Dehney (Pelham, N.C.) continued her dominant rookie season in the 131-pound tournament, going 4-0 on the day to take first place and clinching All-Regional honors. Dehney is now 26-0 on the season and headed to the National Championships next month.
Sophomore Alexis Dobson (Manchester, N.H.) improved on her third-place finish from last year in the 103 pounds bracket, going 3-1 and reaching the finals of the championship for second place. She has qualified for Nationals for the second straight season.
Junior Karime Camarena-Tejeda (Miami, Fla.) went 2-2 in the 145-pound bracket, reaching the third round of the consolation bracket.
Freshman Ashley Dehney (Pelham, N.C.) went 1-2 in the 145-pound bracket.
Sophomore Olivia Delegas (Andover, Mass.) went 0-2 in the 124-pound bracket.
