HENNIKER, N.H. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced the 2024 Division III National Academic Squad on Wednesday, recognizing fifteen members of the New England College field hockey team.
The NFHCA National Academic Squad program celebrates the academic excellence of undergraduate collegiate student-athletes. This prestigious recognition is bestowed upon individuals who have attained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester of the current academic year, and who have been nominated by their dedicated NFHCA member coaches. Overall, the NFHCA recognized over 1880 students across over 150 institutions who met these criteria.
Representing NEC field hockey, junior goalkeeper Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H.), senior midfielder Taylor Bailey (Boscawen, N.H.), sophomore defender Grace Bannon (Campton, N.H.), sophomore defender Leah Bohling (Chesapeake, Va.), sophomore defender Lauren Hall (Belfast, Maine), sophomore midfielder Neila Jones (Rowley, Mass.), sophomore forward Adelaide Kelly (Rockport, Maine), sophomore midfielder Conley Ladabouche (Barre, Vt.), junior forward Cristina Manzi (Peapack, N.J.), freshman defender Jaylen Marsh (Methuen, Mass.), junior defender Isabella Marzano (Warwick, R.I.), senior forward Meaghan McCamish (Warwick, R.I.), freshman midfielder Kennedy Overhoff (Whitefield, N.H.), sophomore goalkeeper Amy Philbin (Long Island, N.Y.), and freshman forward Marjorie Young (Whitefield, N.H.) were recognized.
McCamish earned her fourth recognition in as many years as Bailey and Marzano made the list for the third time, and Bannon, Bohling, Hall, Ladabouche, Jones, Kelly, Manzi, and Philbin all made the list for a second time.
"We are so proud to have this many student-athletes find their place on the NFHCA National Academic Squad," said head coach Carly Sweeney. "It is a testament to how much they truly care about their academic success and the hard work they put in."
