HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College senior Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H.) of the NEC field hockey team was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this season for the week ending on November 2nd.
Anderson tallied six saves in just 15 minutes of play on Tuesday against nationally ranked No.8 Endicott, then followed up with a two-save shutout in the GNAC quarterfinal win over Lasell. The senior finished the week with an impressive .800% save percentage and continues to be a league-leader in multiple goalie categories, while also ranking within the nation's top 10.
The shutout against Lasell was the fifth for Makenzie this season and the second time she had blanked the Lasers this season. The senior is up to 16 career shutouts, which is second in program history.
Anderson and the Pilgrims return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Franklin, Massachusetts to take on #1 Dean College in the semifinal round of the GNAC tournament. Game time is set to start at 2:00 PM.
