HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England College men's golf team was voted 1st in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pre-Championship Poll conducted by the league's eight head coaches.
For the second straight year, the NEC men's golf team was selected first in the GNAC Championship preceding poll. The team is coming off of back-to-back GNAC Championship titles and will be looking to complete the three-peat at New Haven Country Club on October 13th and 14th.
The Pilgrims received three first-place votes and totaled 57 points overall, just edging out Albertus Magnus who also received three first-place votes and 56 overall points. Norwich received the final two first-place votes and were selected to finish third. NEC, Albertus, and Norwich will face off against each other on Wednesday, October 8th at the GNAC Championship site and the Falcons' home course. The tri-match will be the team's final tune-up before the two-day championships at the very same course.
Rounding out the rest of the field, Saint Joseph's College of Maine came in at number four, tied with Emmanuel College. Dean College was selected to finish sixth, Mitchell College at seven, and Elms College was voted eighth.
