HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's basketball team suffered a 43-74 defeat against visiting University of Saint Joseph on Tuesday evening at the Bridges Gymnasium in Henniker, New Hampshire in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

TURNING POINTS
- The Blue Jays jumped out to an early 20-6 lead before five consecutive points from senior guard Alex Williams (Miramar, Fla.) dropped the deficit to single digits. After USJ hit a three-pointer to return the lead to 12, freshman guard Josh Robie (Bethlehem, N.H.) responded with back-to-back deep threes to make it a six-point game. However, the defending GNAC champion Blue Jays would close out the half on a 11-0 run to take a 34-17 lead into the halftime break.
- USJ picked up right where they left off to start the second half, going on a 25-7 run to create a 25-point cushion. The 'Grims managed to hit some threes down the stretch, with sophomore guard Jasen Stovall (Tampa, Fla.) knocking down two triples and Robie hitting his third of the game. The relentless attack of the Blue Jays resulted in a final score of 74-43 in this late night GNAC matchup.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Saint Joseph's Kevin Cummings (Portsmouth, N.H.) was red-hot in the first half and led all scorers with 20 in the game.
- Stovall and Robie both had nine points on the evening to lead the 'Grims. The pair combined to shoot six-of-nine from beyond the arc.
- NEC sophomore center Aiden MacLeod (Wilmington, Mass.) was a monster on the defensive end, accumulating a career-high six blocked shots in 27 minutes of action.
- USJ found its' biggest advantage down low, outscoring NEC 36-8 in the paint and outrebounding the Pilgrims 47-26.
