FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The New England College women's wrestling team lost two matches at the Sacred Heart University Tri-Meet on Sunday at the Pitt Athletic Center in Fairfield, Connecticut, losing 33-9 to D'Youville University before falling to the host Pioneers, 39-5.
TOP 'GRIMS
- NEC sophomore Alexis Dobson (Manchester, N.H.), competing in the 103-pound weight class, continued to show why she was one of the best competitors in the region. After picking up a forfeit win against the Saints, Dobson picked up the pin victory in just 49 seconds against freshman Tiffany Stoshak (Wyoming, Penn.) of Sacred Heart, notching NEC's only points of the match.
- NEC junior Karime Camarena-Tejeda (Miami, Fla.) split her two matches on the day, falling by technical fall against sophomore Saniyah Ward (The Colony, Tex.) of D'Youville before taking a 2:12 pin victory against sophomore Tayla Tildsley (Billerica, Mass.) of Sacred Heart.
