HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College sophomore goalkeeper Lukas Tate (South Jordan, Utah) of the NEC men's soccer team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week for the week ending on September 22nd.
Tate started in net for the 'Grims on Saturday, holding the Blazers of Elms College scoreless for 90 minutes in the team's 2-0 conference win. The shutout was Tate's second consecutive shutout as the team has now gone 2-0-1 in his three starts this season. At press time, Tate is tied for the best save percentage in the GNAC with a .913 percent mark and is currently tied for the lowest goals-against average at 0.57.
"Lukas is playing really well at a consistently high level," said head coach Pat Laughlin. "He has worked hard for this opportunity, and it is great to see him recognized by the GNAC."
Tate and the 'Grims will be seeking their third GNAC victory of the season on Wednesday, September 25th, as they host Lasell University at the Don Melander Field starting at 7:00 PM.
