HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College senior midfielder Meaghan McCamish (Warwick, R.I.) of the NEC field hockey team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Co-Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, September 15th.
McCamish helped lead the Pilgrims to a pair of wins this week over Fitchburg State University and GNAC opponent Dean College. McCamish supplied both goals in the team's narrow 2-1 win against Fitchburg on Tuesday night and scored a goal while adding an assist in their dominant 7-0 victory over Dean on Saturday.
The senior midfielder compiled three goals seven points across the three games and now ranks third in the GNAC in goals and third in total points on the season. "Meg has been on a tear this season, her movement and tenacity in our attacking end has been phenomenal," said head coach Carly Sweeney. "We are so proud of the work she is putting in everyday and we are so glad she is being recognized for it."
McCamish and the 'Grims take a 5-1 record into their next contest – a road matchup against Anna Maria College on Wednesday, September 18th, starting at 6:00 PM.
