THE BASICS
Score: Albertus Magnus 0, New England College 24
Records: Pilgrims 4-6, 2-4 GNAC | Falcons 1-10, 1-5 GNAC
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The 'Grims wasted absolutely no time getting on the board as NEC graduate midfielder Cassie Kelly (Alexandria, Minn.) won the opening draw control and tore down the field, running past the Falcon defenders and beating the goalie for her team-leading 21st goal of the season, scoring just 12 seconds in.
- Kelly's goal would be a sign of things to come as they posted five goals in less than five minutes, as the game went to a running clock with three minutes left in the first. The Pilgrims took an 11-0 lead into the second quarter, led by three from Kelly. The Falcons would not threaten again.
