HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College junior shortstop
Brady Philibotte (Weare, N.H.) of the NEC baseball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week for the week ending on April 28
th, as announced by the conference on Monday morning.
Philibotte had a great week for the 'Grims, going 13-for-23 with six doubles across the team's six games, good for a .565 batting average and an .826 slugging percentage. The junior co-captain accrued six RBIs and scored seven runs while going 2-for-2 in steals on the base paths.
In the team's doubleheader against Rivier on Sunday, Philibotte went a combined 6-for-8 at the plate, including collecting his 100
th career hit with a double in the sixth inning of the first game. With the big day, Philibotte closed out the season with an even .400 batting average on the year to lead the team.
"Brady had an amazing week, getting his 100th hit and doing his best to try to carry us to the playoffs," said head coach
Terry Doyle. "Ending the year hitting .400 is an amazing accomplishment and I'm glad he was able to receive the honor of GNAC Player of the Week."
