YORK, Penn. – The New England College women's wrestling team finished in fifth place at the New Standard Invitational on Saturday at M&T Bank Field House in York, Pennsylvania.
TOP 'GRIMS
- Sophomore Alexis Dobson (Manchester, N.H.) had a bye in the first round. After winning by technical superiority, she pinned her opponent in the finals to take first place.
- Freshman Madeline Li (Andover, Mass.), after a bye in the first round, won by technical superiority and won by decision in the semifinals. She fell by technical superiority in the finals to earn second place.
- Freshman Morgan Gora (Hudson, N.H.) fell by technical superiority in both of her matches.
- Sophomore Olivia Delegas (Andover, Mass.) won her opening match by technical superiority. After falling by pin in her first consolation match, she won by technical superiority in her second, before falling in her next.
- Freshman Orla King (Woburn, Mass.) fell in her two matches.
- Freshman Jaclyn Dehney (Pelham, N.C.), after earning a bye in the first round, pinned her way to a first place finish.
- Junior Karime Camarena-Tejeda (Miami, Fla.), after earning a bye in the first round, fell by pinfall in two of her next three matches to end her weekend.
