Women’s Wrestling Falls to WNE in First Dual

SPRINGFIELD, M.A. – The New England College women's wrestling team dropped their first dual meet of the season on Saturday at Blake Arena in Springfield, Massachusetts. 

TOP 'GRIMS 

  • Freshman Madeline Li (Andover, Mass.) got the lone win for the Pilgrims with a pin in just over a minute. 
  • Sophomore Olivia Delegas (Andover, Mass.) was pinned by Ariel Casella to put WNE up 15-5 
  • Freshman Orla King (Woburn, Mass.) dropped her match to Abigail Alicandro in a technical fall. 
  • Junior Karime Camarena-Tejeda (Miami, Fla.) fell to Atiyana Williams 10-0 to give the Golden Bears a 33-point lead. 
  • Western New England took advantage of multiple forfeits to take the decisive win. 

UP NEXT 

  • NEC is back on the mats on Saturday, November 16 when they travel to Collegeville, Pennsylvania to take on Ursinus College.
