KEENE, N.H. - The New England College women's volleyball team went 0-2 at the Keene State College Tri-match on Saturday at the Spaulding Gymnasium in Keene, New Hampshire. The Pilgrims lost in straight sets to the Anchorwomen of Rhode Island College in their opener before falling to the host Owls of Keene in four in the evening match. The 'Grims run their overall record to 10-16 on the season.

RIC 3, NEC 0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-14)
- Facing the Anchorwomen of RIC, the 'Grims got their best opportunity in the second set. Down 22-20, NEC stormed back behind a block by graduate middle-blocker Tatiana Sampson (Kailua, Hawaii) and sophomore middle-blocker Jamie Hansen (New Underwood, S.D.), taking a 24-22 lead behind the serving of junior setter Aurora Gutierrez-Macias (El Paso, Tex.) and setting up set point. But RIC would answer, winning the next four points to take the set and going on to win in three.
- NEC sophomore right-side hitter Maeve Amarosa (Madbury, N.H.) led the Pilgrims in the first match, totaling seven kills and five digs.
- NEC junior outside hitter Lily-Anne Heywood (Derry, N.H.) added five kills, two aces and 13 digs.
NEC 1, KEENE STATE 3 (22-25, 25-12, 26-24, 25-15)
- The first set was a back-and-forth nailbiter, with the 'Grims ultimately taking it down off the serving of junior libero Kristina Cardello (Peabody, Mass.). Tied at a set apiece in the third, NEC was down 24-21 when they rallied to tie it up on three straight points, including a kill by Amarosa. But the Owls would close out the set and the match in four.
- Heywood led the Pilgrims with ten kills and ten digs.
- NEC sophomore setter Alexandra Seijas (Fort Myers, Fla.) posted 22 set assists with seven digs to spark the offense.
