Box Score BRIGHTON, Mass. - The New England College field hockey team lost 2-1 in overtime at Simmons University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Monday evening at Daly Field in Brighton, Massachusetts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- NEC sophomore goalkeeper Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H.) was a force in net, tallying nine saves in regulation against one of the top teams in the GNAC. With the 'Grims trailing 1-0 and just 1:16 to go in the fourth, NEC turned to graduate forward Drea Chin (Laconia, N.H.) and the leading scorer delivered with her third goal of the year off an assist from breakout junior midfielder Meaghan McCamish (Warwick, R.I.), sending the game into overtime.
- In the extra period, NEC went on the offensive, but two quick shots were turned away by the Simmons' defense. The Sharks would find the answer as Simmons first year midfielder Katy Paveglio (Groton, Mass.) found the back of the net for her first career goal.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Simmons junior forward Sydney Gonyea (Lebanon, N.H.) scored the first goal of the game just 1:09 into the fourth period.
- NEC graduate forward Mikayla Vincent (Newburyport, Mass.) was active on the offensive end with a team-high five shots on the day.
