HENNIKER, N.H. - Freshman Molly Goodwin (Guilford, Maine) of the New England College field hockey team was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the week ending on October 18th. 

Goodwin finished the week with two points, one goal, and two shots on goal as the Pilgrims posted a perfect 3-0 record. She set the tone early in Saturday's GNAC semifinal rematch against Dean, recording the game's first shots on goal. Goodwin later found the back of the cage in the closing minutes, scoring her third goal of the season to help secure NEC's 3-0 shutout victory over the reigning GNAC champions. 

The rookie has seen action in all 14 games so far this season with six starts and now has six points on three goals. All three of Goodwin's goals have come in the last month of game action as she will look to have a strong final stretch to her first season. 

The 'Grims return to action on Wednesday, welcoming the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer College to Don Melander Field for a 7:00 PM matchup.
