Men’s Golf Takes Third at Castleton Invitational

RUTLAND, Vt. - The New England College men's golf team competed at the 2023 Vermont State University Castleton Invitational this past weekend at the Rutland Country Club in Rutland, Vermont, coming in third place out of seven teams. The Pilgrims posted a combined score of 667 over two days, good for a +107, bolstered by their depth, as all four golfers finished in the top 21.  
 
TOP 'GRIMS
  • NEC junior Timothy Carlson (Albany, N.Y.) finished in eighth place in a field of 35 golfers to lead the 'Grims, finishing up with an 80 on Saturday and an 82 on Sunday.  
  • NEC sophomore Graham Hassan (Pinckney, Mich.) finished tied for tenth place, just two strokes behind Carlson with an 81 and 83.
  • Senior Roman O'Brienhalla (Chapel Hill, N.C.) (85 & 85) and sophomore Kam Hellman (Macomb, Mich.) (82 & 89) were third and fourth for the Pilgrims, with Hellman still beating out 14 other golfers.
 
UP NEXT
  • NEC will compete next on Friday when they travel to the Keene State Tournament.
