MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The New England College baseball team lost a tough battle against the Susquehanna University River Hawks in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in non-conference action on Sunday evening.

Score: Susquehanna University 7, New England College 6

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• NEC started out strong as senior IF/OF Luca Giallongo hit a homer in the third inning to put the 'Grims up 3-0. The River Hawks came clawing back in the fourth inning as four different players brought in four runs to take the lead 4-1 lead. NEC took the lead back in the sixth inning with senior infielder Devin Parsons' double to make it 6-5. Susquehanna scored a run in the seventh and capped off the game with a score from junior outfielder Sean McCulloch in the ninth inning to end it at 7-6 in favor of the River Hawks. Despite the heartbreaking loss, the 'Grims struck out the River Hawks more than the counter with a 16-10 edge including three strikeouts from sophomore pitcher Austin Hazzard.
