Drea Chin (Laconia, N.H.) scored four goals as the NEC field hockey team used a quick start to prevail 8-2 over visiting Regis College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday evening at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The 'Grims pounced on the Pride right out of the gate, as Chin scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season just 2:18 into the game, assisted by sophomore midfielder Cristina Manzi (Peapack, N.J.).
- Less than a minute later, NEC graduate forward Mikayla Vincent (Newburyport, Mass.) recovered her own putback off a Regis save and shot it home for her fifth goal of the year as the Pilgrims went ahead 2-0 and never looked back.
- Chin scored her second goal of the night just 2:04 into the second quarter, recovering her own shot off a kick save from the keeper and finding the back of the net to put the Pilgrims ahead 3-0.
- With 5:41 to go in the first half, NEC freshman midfielder Neila Jones (Rowley, Mass.) took the ball away from the Regis attacker near midfield, passing it to Chin. Chin drove on the goal on a tear, catching the keeper out of position and feeding a pass to freshman forward Adelaide Kelly (Rockport, Maine) for her fourth goal of her career. The 'Grims went into halftime leading 4-1, and never looked back.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Chin finished with four goals and an assist for the 'Grims, scoring her third goal for the hat trick 3:46 into the third quarter, and her fourth with 9:07 to go in the game.
- Kelly, who earlier this season became the first Pilgrim in school history to receive a GNAC weekly award with Rookie of the Week honors for the week ending September 3rd, tacked on two goals.
- Regis junior forward Anna Miele-DeFelice (Framingham, Mass.) scored the Pride's first goal of the game, that coming with 3:37 left in the first half. Senior midfielder Chloe Grande (Topsfield, Mass.) later scored with 6:53 remaining in the game.
- Vincent finished with a goal and an assist while Manzi posted a breakout game for NEC, with her second career goal as well as an assist.
- NEC sophomore goalkeeper Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H.) tallied three saves for the Pilgrims through three quarters, allowing just one goal.
- Regis first-year goalie Allayna Martone (Elkridge, Md.) recorded 12 stops in a valiant effort for the Pride.
- NEC dominated overall shots at 38-11 with a 12-7 edge in corners.

- NEC is back on the field on Saturday when they travel to the University of Saint Joseph to face the host Blue Jays in a 12:00 p.m. conference showdown.
