HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's soccer team had a tough outing against visiting Saint Joseph's College (Maine) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday evening at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • NEC was unable to get any momentum going all night long. The 'Grims had a few opportunities in the second half to get a boost, yet the Monks' defense was too sturdy.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • NEC sophomore goalkeeper Stephanie Bronowicki (Corona, Calif.)
  • Saint Joseph's senior goalkeeper Carly Downey (Yarmouth, Maine)
  • Monks kept it one-sided the whole game, finishing with a 27-7 advantage on total shots with a 11-4 advantage on shots-on-goal.
  • Saint Joseph's also led in penalty corners with a 12-4 edge.

TIDBITS

  • Before Wednesday's match, both the New England College Men's and Women's Soccer teams had established October 11th as John Stark United Day in an effort to continue its impactful relationship. The local club that provides opportunities to players for over 17 years was introduced to the fans prior to the starting lineup.
