WORCESTER, Mass. – The New England College women's basketball team took the loss at Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Saturday at Harrington Auditorium in Worcester, Massachusetts in nonconference action.

- The Engineers took control of the game early as the offense shot 68.8% from the field on their way to building a 27-4 lead after the first quarter.
- The Pilgrims defense improved in the second quarter as the two teams matched each other's scoring outputs at 11 points keeping the halftime deficit at 23.
- The 'Grims were unable to eat into the large lead that WPI had created early as the offense never found its footing in this one en route to a 37-point defeat.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Freshman guard Amaya Moss (Viginia Beach, Virg.) led all 'Grims with 7 points off the bench.
- ???????NEC junior guard Alissia Corona (Wylie, Texas) added 5 points, 4 rebounds, and a game-high 4 steals while sophomore guard Zaniya Moody (Hampton, Va.) added 3 steals of her own.
- WPI was led by graduate center Lisa Cristiano (Valhalla, NY) who paced all scorers with 14 points.
- Graduate guard McKenna Finken (Simsbury, CT) added 12 points while senior center Emily Raynowski (Simsbury, CT) contributed 8 points and 8 boards.
- WPI shot 44.8 percent from the field while NEC hit on just 21.4 percent of their shots.
- The Engineers dominated the rebounding battle 52 to 27 as they controlled the boards throughout the game.
