HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's basketball team fell late against visiting Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday afternoon at the Bridges Gymnasium in Henniker, New Hampshire in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action.  

THE BASICS 
Score: New England College 68, Eastern Nazarene College 71 
Records: Pilgrims 7-7, 0-1 NECC | Lions 6-11, 1-0 NEC 

 TURNING POINTS 

• Both teams were red-hot from deep as ENC put in four threes and NEC converted four threes as well in the first 5:56 of play, giving the Lions a 23-21 lead at the end of the first quarter. 

• Both teams scored 18 points in the second quarter and keeping the Lions with a slight lead 41-39, while senior forward Ericka Pratt (Miami, Fla.) scored 10 of the 'Grims 15 points in the quarter. 

• NEC started to pull away in the third quarter as freshman guard Mackenzie McDonald (Boscawen, N.H.) scored an and-one in the final seconds, extending the 'Grims lead to eight. 

• The Lions rallied back in the fourth quarter, outscoring the 'Grims 21-10 to bring the final to 71-68 in favor of ENC. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

• Pratt gave the Lions all she could handle by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds in 31 minutes. 

• Junior guard Lara Matias (Long Beach, Cali.) came off the bench and gave the 'Grims 12 points and three rebounds. 

• ENC's Ashley Quigley poured in 18 points in the contest, while also going 4-6 from the three-point line. 

• Despite the loss, NEC outrebounded ENC by a whopping 56-24 count, and gave the 'Grims 31 second-chance points. 

• Bench scoring was solid on both sides, with NEC leading 21-13 in that category. 

• No team has led by double-digits in the whole game, with the 'Grims leading by eight at most and ENC with six. 

UP NEXT 

• Up next for NEC, the team will be back at Bridges Gym to take on Emerson College on Monday with tip-off at 5:00 PM. 

• Eastern Nazarene will be on the road to play Wesleyan (Conn.) on Wednesday at 5:30 PM.
