The New England College Men's Lacrosse team looks to wrap up their season on a high note as they take on Mitchell College in the 2022 New England Collegiate Conference Championship Saturday at 2:00 pm
New England College (6-10, 4-0 NECC) is looking to bounce back after losses to Wheaton and UMass Boston. Lucas Ferreira leads the way for the Pilgrims on the offensive end as he paces the team with 41 goals, 28 assists, and 69 points. Thomas Norton compiled 35 goals and 14 assists. Josh Owen has been critical in the midfield for the Pilgrims, as he leads the team with 30 assists. Quint Bartush and Joseph Pricken have combined to win 71.7 percent (276-of-385) of their faceoffs in the faceoff circle. Connor Almstrom and Michael Catalano headline a quartet of netminders for New England College, as they combine for a 10.86 goals-against average and a .529 save percentage.
Mitchell College (4-11, 2-2 NECC) is coming off a 17-0 win over Eastern Nazarene on Saturday. The Mariners are led offensively by Aidan Messuri, who paces the team with 29 goals, while James Giovanniello has 15 goals, 16 assists, and 31 points. In the crease, Mitchell has split the time between three netminders. Steven Turchetta and John Grieco have seen most of the time, as they combine to maintain a 15.67 goals-against average and a .470 save percentage.
The Pilgrims lead the all-time series 4-0.
