Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. – The top-seed New England College Baseball Team cruised to an 11-0 win in Game One of the 2022 NECC Baseball Tournament over the No. 4 seed Lesley University at Laurie Cox Memorial Field Friday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
New England College jumped out to an early lead as JD Normand doubled down the leftfield line, plating Luca Giallongo on the play. The Pilgrims scored two more runs in the bottom of the first, as Brady Philibotte and Normand scored on a throwing error by the Lesley shortstop. NEC expanded its advantage in the bottom of the third inning, as Patrick Hagerty doubled down the rightfield line, scoring a pair of runs. Tyler Gendron pushed the lead to 6-0 as he singled to right-centerfield.
The Pilgrims would carry a 6-0 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning. NEC exploded for five runs as Harutaro Takahashi, Devin Parsons, Hagerty, and Gendron drove in runs for the 'Grims. Takahashi plated a pair with a double to center field before scoring on Parsons' double to left-center. Parsons crossed the plate on an error by the Lesley right fielder before Gendron hit a solo home run down the left-field line.
Shaun Cormier picked up his sixth win of the year as he struck out three in 7.0 shutout innings. Ryan Bourque pitched 2.0 innings of one-hit baseball in relief.
