Box Score 2 HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College Baseball team wrapped up their home regular-season schedule with a sweep of the University of Maine Presque Isle. After taking game one 12-2, the Pilgrims completed the doubleheader, winning the second game 4-1 Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
(Game One) - New England College 12, UMaine Presque Isle 2
The Pilgrims started fast as they plated six runs in the bottom of the first inning. JD Normand opened the starting with a two-RBI double to the top of the right-field fence. Johnny Cannavo, Bryce Worth, Patrick Hagerty, and Cooper Ribaudo picked up RBI in the frame. In the top of the third inning, Presque Isle got on the board as Joey Lippo scored on a Timmy Burns single to left field. Cannavo scored on a throwing error by the UMPI catcher in the bottom half of the inning.
New England College extended their advantage to 12-1, as they plated five runs in the frame. Harataro Takahashi drove in one with a single through the right side of the infield. Cannavo and Ribaudo had two-RBI base knocks in the frame. The Owls added one run in the top of the sixth, as they scored on an error by the NEC second baseman.
Shawn Sears picked up the win for the Pilgrims, as he struck out five over 3.0 innings of work.
(Game Two) - New England College 4, UMaine Presque Isle 1
Maine Presque Isle took their first lead of the afternoon in the top of the second inning, as Bailey Corley hit a solo home run over the left-field fence. Connor Morin took the lead for the Pilgrims with authority, as he hit a two-run home run to right-center field in the bottom of the third inning. New England College pushed their lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the fourth, as they plated two runs in the frame. Ryan Hughes stole home on a double steal with Kyle Dobrie before scoring on a single to left-field by Ribaudo.
Matt White picked up the win after striking out three in 3.0 innings, while Seth Balch and Ryan Bourque each threw two scoreless innings.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The New England College pitching staff has extended their streak of seven straight games allowing five or fewer earned runs.
