Box Score 2 LEXINGTON, Mass. – The New England College Baseball closed out New England Collegiate Conference action today with a sweep of Lesley University, which locked up the top seed in the upcoming NECC Baseball Tournament next weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
New England College 6, Lesley University 1 (Game One)
Devin Parsons got the Pilgrims on the board in the top of the second inning, as he doubled home JD Normand. Sylvain Audet pushed the advantage to 3-0, following his two-RBI double to left field. Audet crossed the plate to cap off the four-run inning on a sacrifice fly to centerfield.
New England College expanded their lead in the top of the sixth, as Parsons scored on an Audet single to left field, while Tyler Gendron drove in Audet with a double to left. Lesley got on the board in the bottom of the seventh, as Ronnie James scored on a pickoff.
Shaun Cormier picked up his fifth win of the year, as he struck out seven over 7.0 innings.
New England College 5, Lesley University 2 (Game Two)
New England College picked up an early lead as Luca Giallongo scored on a JD Normand triple to centerfield in the top of the first inning. Lesley took their first lead of the day, as Colby Jacobs had a two-RBI single in the bottom of the second. The Pilgrims regained the lead in the third inning, as they plated two runs in the frame. Tyler Gendron took advantage of an error by the Lesley first baseman to score the game-tying run before Normand doubled home Giallongo to give NEC a 3-2 advantage.
The 'Grims added two more runs to push their lead to 5-2, as Giallongo had an RBI single in the fourth, while Normand drove in his third run of the game in the top of the fifth.
Alex Perez picked up the win for NEC, as he pitched 5.0 innings with six strikeouts and just two hits. After tossing a no-hit bottom of the seventh, Corey O'Day notched his sixth save of the season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- With the win in game one, the Pilgrims locked up the top seed in the upcoming NECC Baseball Tournament. They are the first team to host the tournament besides Mitchell College since Daniel Webster hosted in 2013.
- The Pilgrims lead the all-time series 14-6.
