Box Score KEENE, N.H. – The New England College Baseball team comes out slugging as the Pilgrims rout the Owls of Keene State College, 16-6, in non-conference action at the Owl Athletic Complex Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims jumped out to an early lead, as JD Normand started the scoring with a two-RBI double in the top of the first inning. Normand would eventually cross the plate to make it 3-0 NEC on a Tyler Gendron sacrifice fly to centerfield. New England College doubled their lead in the top of the third, as Gendron doubled home one run before scoring on Sylvian Audet's two-run home run to right field.
The 'Grims' lead would grow to 10-0 in the top of the fourth before expanding to 13-0 after six innings. The Owls would eventually get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the eighth as they plated three-run. New England College added three more insurance runs in the top of the ninth to go up 16-3, but Keene State added three more in the bottom half of the frame to make it a 16-6 final score.
Wyatt Cameron picked up his first win of the year, as he threw 5.0 innings of one-hit baseball while also striking out nine.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC won five of their last six games, as they have outscored their opponents 57-27.
- The Pilgrims' bats only struck out twice today but drew five walks on the afternoon.
