After picking up a sweep during their home opener against Lesley University, the New England College Baseball team hits the road to take on Keene State College, with the first pitch slated for noon.
New England College (8-8, 3-1 NECC) is coming off an 8-4 loss last night to WPI. JD Normand continues to be one of the top bats in the Pilgrims' lineup, as he is batting .370 on the year with three doubles and 12 RBI. Connor Morin and Michael Ciccotelli have been the critical run producers for NEC, as they have each have one home run while also driving in 12 and 11 runs, respectively. The New England College pitching staff has been solid all year for the team, as they combine for a 4.29 ERA in 119.2 innings pitched. Their 10.68 strikeouts per nine innings rank 20th nationally in Division III.
Keene State (2-12, 0-2 LEC) is coming off an 8-4 win over Albertus Magnus, which snapped a four-game losing streak. Nathaniel Hudson paces the Owls at the plate, as he maintains a .406 batting average and has a team-leading six doubles. Josh Beayon has driven in the bulk of the Keene State runs this year, as he leads the team with three home runs and 12 RBI. On the mound, Phil Nichols has been one of the top arms, as he maintains a 4.32 ERA, but as a staff, KSC has an 8.20 ERA with 93 strikeouts to 53 walks.
