Connor Morin extended the NEC lead later in the inning as he went deep to right field. New England College pushed their advantage to 8-0 after a four-run second inning. Brady Philibotte and Morin each had two-RBI singles in the frame.
In the top of the third, the Mainers got on the board. They plated three runs in the frame on three singles and two walks. Mitchell tacked on one more run in the top of the fourth, as Justin Adorno hit a solo home run. Morin responded for the Pilgrims in the bottom of the fifth inning, as he had a two-RBI double down the left-field line, making it 10-4 NEC.
