Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. – Quint Bartush broke another program record, but the New England College Men's Lacrosse team fell to Wheaton College, 9-6 in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Sam Crary began the scoring for the Pilgrims, as he found the back of the cage at 13:52 of the first quarter. The Lyons answered with back-to-back scores from Alex Berg and Robert Sullivan, giving Wheaton a 2-1. Luca Ferreira tied the game up before the end of the opening quarter, to make it 2-2 after 15 minutes.
David Benjamin opened regained the advantage for NEC, as he scored the first score of the second. Following a Lyons goal to tie the back-and-forth game again, Fednor Drewry made it 4-3 NEC. Wheaton added one more score, as the teams would head into halftime tied at 4-4.
In the second half, Thomas Norton recorded his first of the game to go up 5-4. The Lyons responded and would tally four-straight scores to go up 8-5. Drewry would get the Pilgrims within two, but a Mike Goodwin goal with 3:47 left in regulation would give the Lyons an insurance goal to put the game out of reach.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Connor Almstrom recorded 11 saves in the crease for NEC.
- With 10 ground balls tonight, Quint Bartush surpassed Connor Fries '19 for the most ground balls in a single season (146).
