The New England College Baseball team is in the midst of a nine-game homestand, where they will host Colby-Sawyer College for a nine-inning game, beginning at 3:30 pm.
New England College (13-11, 4-2 NECC) is coming off a split against St. Joseph's College of Maine. The trio of Connor Morin, Harutaro Takahashi, and Michael Ciccotelli lead the way for the Pilgrims at the plate. Morin leads the team with two home runs and 19 RBI, while Takahashi paves the team with a .365 batting average. Ciccotelli paces the team with 25 hits and nine doubles. Freshman Brady Philibotte has been a catalyst for the NEC lineup, as he leads the team in runs (27) and walks (17). The New England College pitching staff has been solid all year, as they maintain a 3.90 ERA, with 209 strikeouts in 177.2 innings. Their hits per nine (7.65) and their strikeouts per nine (10.6) both rank 11th in the nation. Last time out, Morin wrote his name in the program's record books as he became the doubles leader at NEC.
Colby-Sawyer College (7-21, 4-8 GNAC) is coming off a split of Elms College on Saturday, with their win in game two snapping a nine-game losing streak. Cooper O'Brien has led the offense for the Chargers this year with five home runs and 18 RBI. Jesse MacGlashing paces the team with a .412 batting average and 13 RBI. On the mound, the Chargers have struggles, as they have a 7.99 ERA with 153 strikeouts and 110 walks.
