BABSON PARK, Mass. – Babson College plates five runs in the bottom of the eighth, as the New England College Baseball Team falls to the Beavers, 8-4, in non-conference action, Thursday afternoon at Govoni Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Connor Morin provided the early offense for the Pilgrims, as he had a two-out solo home run in the top of the first inning. The New England College lead would grow to 3-0 in the top of the third, as Brady Philibotte scored on a throwing error and Morin crossed the plate on a Haruarto Takahashi single to the right-center gap.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Babson eventually got on the board as Josh Yellen, and Francis Kiely came around to score. The Beavers would tie the game as Brant Savage led off the bottom of the seventh with a solo home run. In the bottom half of the eighth, Babson plated five runs to go up 8-3 entering the final inning of play. Patrick Hagerty would score in the top of the ninth, but the Pilgrims would come up short, 8-4.

Shaun Cormier got the start for NEC, as he went 6.0 innings, scattering five hits, striking out three, and allowing no earned runs.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• This is the second time this year that the Pilgrims have blown a lead in the seventh inning or later.
• NEC is now 0-3 against NEWMAC opponents this year.
