The New England College Baseball team hit the road once again as they head down to Babson Park, Mass., to take on the Beavers of Babson College, with first pitch slated for 3:30 pm.
New England College (12-9, 4-2 NECC) is looking to continue their hot streak, as they have won six of their last seven and eight of their last ten. JD Normand continues to be a force at the plate, as he is batting .339 with one home run and a team-leading 18 RBI. Michael Ciccotelli paces the team with nine doubles, while Luca Giallongo and Harutaro Takahashi have six. Ten batters are hitting over .300 this year. On the mound, the Pilgrims have been dominant. With 185 strikeouts in 155.2 innings, NEC ranks 11th nationally in strikeouts per nine innings.
Babson College (14-8, 5-1 NEWMAC) is currently on a three-game winning streak, as they have complied wins over WPI and Coast Guard. This year, Thomas Lapham has been the leading hitter for the Beavers, as he maintains a .354 batting average to go along with one home run and ten RBI. Sean Burychka paces the team with 19 RBI, while Michael Cook and Jackson Kelly have two homers. Babson has thrown 195.2 innings on the mound with 172 strikeouts to just 44 walks. As a staff, they maintain a 4.05 ERA>
