Box Score 2 NEW LONDON, N.H. – The New England College Baseball team makes it six wins in their last seven games as they complete the doubleheader sweep of Colby-Sawyer College, 2-0, 8-2, in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One – New England College 2, Colby-Sawyer College 0
Harutaro Takahashi kicked off the scoring in the top of the first inning, as he hit a double to left-center field, plating Michael Ciccotelli on the play. The Pilgrims would extend the lead in the top of the sixth inning, as Tyler Gendron scored on a bases-loaded walk drawn by Brady Philibotte.
The NEC pitching staff limited the Chargers to just two hits in game one, with the first one coming in the bottom of the fifth. Alex Perez picked up the win after pitching 3.0 no-hit innings, while Corey O'Day pitched a perfect bottom of the seventh.
Game Two –New England College 8, Colby-Sawyer College 2
Once again, New England College scored in the top of the first inning. Philibotte scored as Tyler Gendron reached on a fielder's choice. The Pilgrims extended their lead to 6-0 following a five-run second inning. Kyle Dobrie, Philibotte, Ciccotelli, and Connor Morin recorded RBI in the frame.
The Chargers got on the scoreboard for the first time on the day in the bottom of the third inning, as Tommy Sasso crossed the plate on an Ian Turpel single to the left-center gap. NEC responded in the top of the fourth, as Ciccotelli drove in the third run of the game, as he singled up the middle, with Luca Giallongo scoring on the play.
In the seventh, both sides were able to plate one run. Takahashi scored on a Sylvian Audet single to left field, but Sasso drove in Cross Sierra with a sacrifice fly to right field.
Tim Krol picked up the win for the Pilgrims after throwing 5.0 innings of one-run baseball, with eight strikeouts.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC pitched 14.0 innings on the day, with seven hits, 15 strikeouts, and two earned runs.
- In April, the NEC pitching staff is 6-2 with a 3.88 ERA and 74 strikeouts to just 32 walks.
