The New England College Baseball team travels north to take on an in-state foe, Colby-Sawyer College, for a doubleheader, beginning at 2:00 pm.
New England College (10-9, 4-2 NECC) is looking to recover following a 1-0 loss in the nightcap at Eastern Nazarene on Saturday. JD Normand continues to be a force at the plate, as he is batting .345 with one home run and a team-leading 18 RBI. Michael Ciccotelli paces the team with eight doubles, while Luca Giallongo, Connor Morin, and Harutaro Takahashi have five doubles. 11 batters are hitting over .300 this year. On the mound, the Pilgrims have been dominant. With 170 strikeouts in 141.2 innings, NEC ranks tenth nationally in strikeouts per nine innings.
Colby-Sawyer College (6-18, 3-7 GNAC) has dropped their last six games, as they fell to St. Joseph's of Maine yesterday (9-4, 7-1). Jesse MacGlashing leads the Chargers with a .368 batting average, while Cooper O'Brien leads the team with 17 RBI and is tied with Tommy Sasso with four home runs. CSC's pitching staff has struggled this year, as they have an 8.05 ERA and has an opponent batting average of .348.
