The New England College Baseball team continues their road trip as they head over to Clark University in Worcester, Mass., to take on Worcester Polytechnical Institute at 6:00 pm.
New England College (6-7, 1-1 NECC) is coming off a weekend that they took two of three against Mitchell and No. 3 Eastern Connecticut. JD Normand and Michael Ciccotelli stay hot at the plate, as the duo are each batting .340 or above. Ciccotelli has hit six doubles and is tied with Connor Morin with nine RBI. The pitching staff has been stellar all year, as the trio of Shayne Audet, Shaun Cormier, and Alex Perez each possess a sub 2.85 ERA with 20+ strikeouts. The Pilgrims have logged 97.2 innings with 111 strikeouts and a 3.96 ERA as a staff.
WPI (9-5, 0-0 NEWMAC) is currently riding a six-game winning streak which includes wins over Roger Williams (12-7), Worcester State (7-6), Fitchburg State (17-7), Eastern Nazarene (11-8, 4-3), and Amherst (11-10). Jacob Hand, Andrew Brooks, and Kyle Johns lead the Engineers offensively. Hand is batting .406 with two homeruns and 10 RBI, while Kyle Johns has a team-leading 17 RBI. Andrew Brooks paces the team with five long balls to go with 13 walks. WPI's pitching staff is led by Owen Radcliffe, as he has logged 13.0 innings with 12 strikeouts to just seven walks. The Engineers have struck out 88 in 102.1 innings while supporting a 7.74 ERA as a staff.
