Box Score 2 KINGSTON, R.I. – The New England College split a doubleheader against Salve Regina University Sunday afternoon. The Pilgrims took game one 3-2 before falling in the nightcap 7-4, at Bill Beck Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One – New England College 3, Salve Regina 2 – 7 Innings
In game one, Salve Regina was the first team to score as Dylan Ketch doubled home Matt D'Amato, giving the Seahawks the early 1-0 lead. NEC responded in the top of the third as Kyle Dobrie scored on an error by the third baseman.
JD Normand singled home Brady Philibott before Harutaro Takahashi drove in Normand with an RBI single in the top of the seventh. SRU got one run in the bottom of the seventh, but Tim Krol shut the door to register the save.
Shaun Cormier picked up the win, as he scattered six hits while allowing just one earned run and striking out six.
Game Two – Salve Regina 7, New England College 4 – 8 Innings
The Seahawks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in game two, as they scored two runs on an error by the NEC left fielder in the bottom of the second inning. Michael Ciccotelli got a run back for the Pilgrims in the top of the fourth, as he doubled home Tyler Gendron. Salve Regina slowly expanded their lead as they plated one run in the bottom of the fifth before tacking on two more in the sixth.
New England College would not go quietly, as Normand crossed the plate on a Bryce Worth double, and Connor Morin recorded an RBI to get NEC within two (5-3) in the top of the seventh. Tyler Cannoe hit a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh before Tyler Petrosino scored on a hit by pitch. Patrick Hagerty capped off the scoring, as Normand scored in the top of the eighth. The game was called due to darkness after the top of the eighth.
Alex Perez went 6.0 innings, as he allowed six hits while striking out three.
