The New England College Baseball team continues their Connecticut trip as they head to Willimantic to take on No. 3 Eastern Connecticut State University, with the first pitch slated for 12:30 pm.
New England College (5-7, 1-1 NECC) is coming off a split against Mitchell College on Saturday. Michael Ciccotelli, JD Normand, and Brady Philibotte lead the Pilgrims at the plate, as the trio are all batting over .300. Ciccotelli paces the team with six doubles, nine RBI, and one home run. Normand and Philibotte have each laced three doubles, while Normand has driven in six runs, while Philibotte has four. NEC has been led by the trio of Shayne Audet, Shaun Cormier, and Alex Perez on the mound. The three have combined for a 2.48 ERA with 71 strikeouts to 21 walks. As a staff, they have a 4.06 ERA in 88.2 innings with 102 strikeouts and a 1.39 WHIP (Walks + Hits Per Inning Pitched).
Eastern Connecticut (12-1, 2-0 LEC) is looking to extend their winning streak to four games, as they are coming off a Saturday sweep of Castleton (12-3, 13-3). Noah Plantamuro and Ryan Bagdasarian are both batting over .400 on the year, while Bagdasarian leads the team with 15 RBI and five doubles. 2022 D3Baseball.com Preseason First Team All-American, Luke Broadhurst is batting .326 with two homeruns and 11 RBI. The Warriors' pitching staff has been solid all year, as they maintain a 3.90 ERA with 126 strikeouts to 36 walks.
