HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One – Anna Maria College 10, New England College 1

The first few innings were controlled by the pitching and the defense, as neither team could garner any momentum at the plate. The two defenses combined to turn five double plays in game one.

Anna Maria was able to break the scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth, as they plated six runs in the frame on just two hits. The AMCats added another run in the fifth before adding three more in the sixth. The Pilgrims finally got on the board in the top of the seventh, as Cooper Ribaudo scored on a Pat Hagerty sacrifice fly to right field.

After the AMCats regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth, Philibotte would tie it for the Pilgrims, as his sacrifice fly to center field plated Ryan Hughes on the play.
