The New England College Baseball team is back in New England as they head down to Marlborough High School to take on Anna Maria College for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
New England College (4-4, 0-0 NECC) is looking to bounce back following being swept on their getaway day against Salem State on Tuesday morning. Haruataro Takahashi, Michael Ciccotelli, and Connor Morin lead the Pilgrims offensively. Takahashi is batting .381 at the plate, while Ciccotelli paces the team with six doubles and is second with seven RBI. Morin has the lone home run for NEC on the year, while he also leads the team with eight runs driven in. The starting pitching for the Pilgrims has been dominant this year. Shayne Audet leads the staff with 18 strikeouts, as he has scattered five hits over 9.0 innings of work. Shaun Cormier has gone 12.0 innings, with 14 K's and just two earned runs in two wins. Anna Maria College (6-6, 0-0 GNAC) is coming off a 14-4 loss against Castleton on Friday. Jason Shell leads the AMCats offensively with three long balls and ten runs driven in. Kosta Drosidis is batting .469 with seven doubles and 10 RBI. Michael Shorey is 4-0 on the year, with 17 strikeouts to just three walks while also supporting a 2.89 ERA. Anna Maria has logged 96.0 innings with 89 strikeouts to 67 walks as a pitching staff while maintaining a 9.09 ERA.
