ONEONTA, N.Y. - The New England College men's soccer team faced off in a losing effort against the Red Dragons of SUNY-Oneonta for the first round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament at Red Dragon Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Sophomore goalkeeper Hayden Walker (Manchester, N.H.) faced three shots before Oneonta senior Ian Zingaro (Liverpool, N.Y.) scored off a pass from junior Robert Bruschini (Wilton, N.Y.) in the 13th minute. Moments later, Red Dragon senior Lucas Fecci (Somers, N.Y.) and graduate student Tristan Battistoni (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) would both find the back of the net in the 18th and 20th minutes. Freshmen Joe Holder (Greenwood, N.Y.) and Sam Rogers (Broadalbin, N.Y.) would also score to close out the opening half.

In the second half, the Pilgrims would hold off the Red Dragons to five shots and the match would conclude 5-0.
