HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's soccer team lost 9-0 to visiting nationally-ranked Amherst College on Sunday afternoon at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mammoths, currently ranked 16th in the nation and second in the region in the latest United Soccer Coaches National Poll, scored early and often against the Pilgrims, leveraging their talent to dominate possession.
- NEC freshman goalkeeper Stephanie Bronowicki (Corona, Calif.) – enjoying one of the best rookie seasons in the program's history – put on a heroic performance in net, tallying 19 saves on the day.
- The highlight of the game for the Pilgrims came in the 18th minute when Amherst senior midfielder Isabelle Geneve (Marlboro, N.J.) took a free kick that hooked towards the NEC goal. Bronowicki made the stop, and then defended the putback attempt by senior midfielder Sarah Sullivan (New York, N.Y.), giving the first-year netminder two saves in the space of three seconds.
- Amherst senior forward Isabel Stern (New York, N.Y.) led the Mammoths with a hat trick of three goals.
- Geneve finished the day with two goals for Amherst, while freshman midfielder Brooke Ingemi(Plymouth, Mass.), freshman forward Sophia Haynes (Los Angeles, Calif.), sophomore back Charlotte McGuire (Washington, DC) and junior forward Liza Katz (New York, N.Y.) also finished with one goal apiece.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Bronowicki's 19 saves were just three off her career-high. At press time, she leads the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) in total saves.
- The rookie entered the weekend ranked 12th in the nation in saves per game.
- The Mammoths outshot the Pilgrims, 39-3.
- Amherst is 5-0 all-time against NEC.
