Women's Soccer Picks Up First Win of the Season vs NVU-Lyndon

HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England College women's soccer team defeated Northern Vermont Univ.-Lyndon 3 to nothing for their first victory of the season in non-conference action on Don Melander Field Tuesday afternoon. 
 

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The Pilgrims held most of the possessions early in the matchup, with the game being held scoreless until senior Reese Hultgren (Charlton, Mass.) found the net off a pass from first-year Fernanda Rojas(Puebla, Mexico) in the eleventh minute. NEC would continue to hold the majority of the possession until halftime. 

  • The Hornets would keep the game within one goal, until first-year Mia Lowenberg (Milford, Conn.) scored her first collegiate goal from a pass from Hultgren in the 67th minute. The 'Grims would continue to keep their lead at two, until senior Emma Rice (Silver Creek, N.Y.) also scored her first collegiate goal from junior Khaya Sims (Surprise, Ariz.) in the final minute of the match. 
     

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • First-year Stephanie Bronowicki (Corona, Cali.) picks up her first win of her collegiate career in net for the Pilgrims. 

  • New England adds to their lead in the all-time series matchup with an overall record of 16-6-1 against Lyndon.
