HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims started their lead in the sixth minute, as Aviara Challinor opened the scoring off a rebound from a blocked shot from Mikayla Vincent. That goal would end up being Challinor's first collegiate goal. NEC would continue the scoring outburst early in the second quarter with a goal from Drea Chin, scoring her first of the day, receiving an assist from Jenna Chrabolowski. Three and a half minutes later, Vincent would score her first goal of the game, unassisted. The Pilgrims would hold their lead, 3-0, going into halftime.
The 'Grims expanded their lead in the sixth minute of the third quarter, Chin would add her name to the scoring sheet again. Chrabolowski picked up her second assist on the contest on the Chin goal. Two minutes later, Kacie Weston would score her first career collegiate goal, extending the lead 5-0. NEC would continue controlling the ball in the Bulldogs zone and Vincent would score her second goal of the game in the final minute of play.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- This is the second straight game that NEC has had a player with two goals and another with two assists (Chrabolowski and Giuliana Kevlin).
- New England College continues their lead in the all-time series at 7-0-0.
