HOW IT HAPPENED
New England College came out firing, as the Pilgrims struck for three goals in the opening 17 minutes. Panagiotis Galatas started the scoring outburst, as he forced a turnover, and beat the PSU goalie to the low right side. Five minutes later, Julian Duarte sent in the corner kick and found the head of Logan Cassin, making it 2-0 NEC. 30 seconds later, Tucker Stenger joined in the scoring barrage. Wiskens Flavil and Galatas picked up assists on Stenger's goal. The two teams would then proceed to halftime, where the Pilgrims had an 8-2 advantage in the shot department, and a 5-0 lead in corner kicks.
NEC would be held scoreless until the 71st minute, as Connor Manteau redirected the William Scala through ball, making it 4-0. 20 seconds later, Flavil added his name to the scoring column, with a 35 yard, bar-down snipe, capping off the scoring of the contest.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Robbie Ferguson and Hayden Walker split time in goal for New England College, as Ferguson collected both shots that he faced.
- Wiskens Flavil led the way with four points in the match, with one goal and two assists.
- Julian Duarte added a pair of assists for NEC.
